CONTACT MARTHA

The practice of mindfulness, movement and breathwork yields so many rewards: being in the present moment, nurturing self, strengthening your body, mind and spirit, and creating inner peace. As we learn to love ourselves it is easier to love others. We call it a practice because no matter how long you do these things, you are always practicing to become your best self, while being at peace with where you are right here, right now.

I have been teaching since 2010. I currently teach students ranging from 2 to 80 plus years young, and I love every single one of them. Building community is very important to me, and these classes
are a great way to do that. The students become a community; actively caring for and about one another.

Wednesday & Thursday mornings: 11:30 AM
Stretching for Balance and Strength

In class we reflect/meditate, practice moving in and out of postures, sometimes holding for a few breaths. We enhance our balance, flexibility and strength, enjoy conscious breathing, and take time
for relaxation. We honor our bodies and look inward to find our quiet, our joy and peace. My goal is to help students find whatever each of you need in your practice. We will be on mats on the floor as well as standing. There are blankets and blocks available to aid you in your practice.

Thursday afternoons: 1:00 PM
Chair Exercise for Life
This is for all students.

We begin and end our practice in a chair and stand for part of our practice with the chair in front or alongside you. Students modify their practice to their comfort level and enjoy the many benefits
movement with breath has to offer.  It is a practice in which you move your spine and joints in all directions, center yourself, stretch, breathe and flow through our postures. You will practice balance
and complete your practice with relaxation.
