Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide any sort of transportation assistance for those traveling in from out of state?

If you have a group, we can arrange for a bus/van though a local transportation company with your group leader.   We do not provide transportation.

How the guest rooms furnished?

Our rooms are simply furnished with single or double bed, desk and chair. Most rooms have a private bath. There are no telephones or televisions in the room to distract our guests from their opportunity to ‘unplug’.

Is Wi-Fi available on campus?

Yes, both in the main building and in the small retreat houses.

What do I need to bring if coming overnight?

We provide all bed linens, towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bars of soap, and drinking cups. You will want to bring your own toiletries, i.e., shampoo, toothbrush, etc.

We have some group members who can just come for the program but will not be staying overnight. Is that okay?

Yes. It is common for groups to have members who want to participate but won’t stay over. We offer a commuter price, ask for details.

How much is the cost of the retreat? What if I can’t afford it?

The fee varies from retreat to retreat and your retreat leader can tell you the cost. There is a funded program available that offers limited discounted prices for those who might not otherwise be able to afford participation in a retreat. We call this our Pass it Forward Fund. Inquire with your retreat leader/organization.

Is the facility handicapped accessible?

We have handicapped parking, a ramp and the entrance all on one level.  All meeting spaces, hallways and the dining room are accessible for a wheelchair or scooter. There is elevator access to all levels. There are handicapped friendly public bathrooms on three of our four floors. We have made accommodations in a few bedrooms with higher toilet seats and bars installed in the bathroom shower. We can offer a limited number of portable raised toilets and shower chairs.  Several rooms have recliners if someone needs to sleep upright.

What about meals?

Three meals are included.  Meals are served buffet style in our dining room.  We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets as well as any food allergies.

Our hospitality rooms have a microwave and standard refrigerator that the retreatants are free to use if they need to bring their own special diet supplements.  If you will be bringing medication that needs to be refrigerated, this is where you can store it during your stay.  We also have ice machines on site, coffee & tea stations on all floors.   You are also welcome to bring any snacks that you’d like for yourself which can be stored in your hospitality room.

Can we cook our own meals?

All food must be prepared in our licensed kitchen by our certified staff. Pallottine does not have cooking facilities for public use.  We do have a microwave available in our hospitality rooms.

What do you have on campus for recreation?

We have a 5,000 sq ft. gymnasium, basketball hoops, a volleyball net, putting greens and shuffle board. We do supply basket balls, volleyballs and equipment for the putting greens and shuffle board. We have walking trails, and a full length heated pool.

Is firewood provided for the fire pits?

Yes, if we know in advance that you will be using them. Bundles are $8 each. Fire starters and newspaper are provided.

What if I become ill or need medical attention while I’m there?

Your retreat leader will have a binder with information about local urgent care locations and hospitals located very near Pallottine, information about the closest pharmacies, urgent care, and emergency room facilities. All are within a short drive of the campus. For liability reasons, staff members are not able to provide transport to hospital or urgent care locations.

Can we use candles in our services/meetings?

For the safety of our guests and the protection of our property, open flames are not permitted inside our building.  We do offer a large supply of realistic battery operated candles.
