What is a retreat?
A retreat is a time to come away from the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life to create a space for reflection, peace, and listening for God. There are many different types of retreats, from silent retreats to retreats where the focus is on building community. In all, though, we seek to come to grow in faith and intentionally create time to be with God.
What about our meals?
Meals are included in the cost of your retreat and are prepared by our professionally-trained chefs in our Grade A kitchen. Our chefs customize menus specifically for your group. If you have special requests, like a banquet-style meal or particular menu options, please let us know.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
We will be glad to accommodate dietary restrictions that are communicated in advance.
What kind of groups come for retreats?
All kinds of groups! We host high school and college groups, groups from many faith traditions, men’s or women’s groups, and many more. We have also found that national conferences for faith-based organizations appreciate our proximity to the airport.
What do I need to bring if coming overnight?
We provide all bed linens, towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bars of soap, and drinking cups. You will want to bring your own toiletries (including shampoo, toothbrush, etc.).
Do you offer private retreats?
Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to offer retreats to groups, not individuals. If you contact our office, we will be happy to suggest some other retreat centers that offer private retreats.
Do you have audio/visual equipment?
We have audio/visual capabilities in our conference room, chapel, gymnasium, and dining room. The conference room has an integrated system with built-in digital projector, wireless microphone, DVD player, mp3 player connectivity, CD player, and overhead speakers. There are three wireless microphones in our chapel, one in our dining room, and one can be available in our gymnasium if arranged in advance. We also have a portable digital projector that can be used in any of the rooms on site. There is no additional cost to use our audio/visual equipment.
How “modern” is the facility?
Our building was built in the 1960’s and we have worked hard to keep it up to date in the intervening years. It has air conditioning in the hot summer months and many of the bedrooms have private bathrooms. We also have an elevator in the center of our building that leads to all floors of the facility. We think you will find it comfortable and welcoming.
Can I access wireless internet while I’m staying at Pallottine?
Yes. We have wireless internet throughout most of the facility. Groups are provided the access code when they arrive.
What kind of parking is available?
Parking is available on our main lot, which is easily found at the end of our driveway and leads to our front door.
Are there accommodations for people with disabilities?
We welcome people of all abilities to the Pallottine Renewal Center and strive to make our facility as comfortable as possible for all guests. Unfortunately, we are not fully accessible for people who use wheelchairs. However, our facility can easily be navigated without stairs and we have an elevator that leads to the floors with bedrooms. Some of our bedrooms have facilities that are more comfortable for people with special needs. Please inquire with our office for more information.
