After being cooped up in the house during winter’s inclement weather, the body longs for outdoor activity.
Even during these short spurts of 50+ weather, folks are on their patios heating up the barbeque and spicing up the neighborhood with the aroma of smoked meats.
People are out walking and searching for signs of early spring flowers. Sportscasters are getting psyched for spring training.
Spring boot camp is right around the corner.
Just as our minds and bodies need to get in gear for a change of seasons, the Church reminds us that our spiritual bodies need to prepare. We seek a closer relationship with God throughout the year, but Lent is a time to FOCUS.
Lent is boot camp for the soul.
