St. Vincent preached that whatever you are doing, not doing, saying, and not saying needs to be intentional. Each little daily action that might seem monotonous in the rush of life is important and that importance can be realized through intentionality. Do the dishes prayerfully, walk the dog and pay attention to the beauty of nature around you, watch television to be close to family members. Prayer can be a part of everything we do and St. Vincent encourages this. He wants us to recognize God in all things and know that God is present always. Intentionality intensifies life and calls us to a deeper understanding of ourselves, the world, others around us, and God.
