St. Vincent Pallotti teaches us that God wants each person to become more God-like. Therefore, the author of all Grace freely gives us divine gifts in order that we may serve Him, and work towards the salvation of others. It is important for each of us to think and pray and discern about the unique and Holy gifts God has bestowed upon us. Are you adept at listening, so that you might be a shoulder for someone lonely? Did He bless you with a beautiful singing voice, so that others could be inspired by your music? Are you a natural at teaching, lending your life to the care and instruction of children?
God has conferred upon you quite exceptional and extraordinary gifts, and has written a divine script for your life. “Freely you have received, freely give.” (Mathew, 10:8) We are called then, as disciples of Jesus, to wash the feet of the world with God’s Grace. By doing so, we become more like Jesus himself, and it enables us to participate in the saving of souls and the glory of God.
