As he matured in the love of God, his prayer became centered not on his limitations but on God being limitless.

The theme of the Church’s jubilee year is mercy—often reflected in the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. This is an important aspect of Vincent Pallotti’s spirituality and is emphasized in the stain-glass windows of the Pallottine Renewal Center chapel.
Showing mercy is a key theme in the New Testament. How we measure out mercy to others, God will measure out to us.
Early in Vincent’s spiritual journey, he reflected on his sinfulness and his incapability of loving as God loves. He would say, “I am nothingness and sin.” As he matured in the love of God, his prayer became centered not on his limitations but on God being limitless: “My God—infinite love, infinite mercy.”
May we find spiritual refreshment in the truth that God loves all his creatures—limitless. May we become more forgiving and more loving. May we be God’s hands of mercy.
